A word on these pages
| |
These pages are mostly old, ugly, and worthless, but on occasion I or
someone else needs information from one of them. This section also
serves as "a series of example web pages that show the power and
features which are possible for your web page."

The Guild
| |
I made this site for a game I played a long time ago. The domain
name recently expired, so I am hosting a copy here.

Dr. Ned's Orthodontics
|
This site demonstrates frames, where the left side of
the screen is divided from the right, and can be moved independently.
The site also has a password protected area, for individual accounts.
Under the comments area (on the left) one may type in their comments
into the web page and an automated email is sent with the user's response.

Button Examples
| |
This page shows a number of flash button styles, rollover
button (the image changes when you hold the cursor over it), and normal
images.

SquareSoft Page
|
An old fansite.
Frames are used, although in this page the frame is
on the top rather than the side. In the top frame there is an image
map. An image map is one image, where clicking on different parts of
it will lead you to different places.

No idea.

Morris Community Education
| |
This is another site done while I was working for the Center for Small Towns,
but the color scheme our client requested is sufficiently terrible that
I will not be teliing you where it is.

Other Web Page Design Notes

Background Styles:
There are a number of different background styles that can be chosen. A simple
color can be chosen for the background, or a repeating image. The best images
are light or of similar colors. Bright background images make it difficult to
read the text in front of it. Washed out logos or patterns that vary little
in color work well. See examples
of simple light-colored web backgrounds.
Text Styles:
Having a variety of fonts on a web page is not possible, because different
people fob not have the same fonts on their computer. However, the size of text
can be changed, along with the centering. Also, effects such as bold,
italics, and underline may be added.
Logos:
Your organization may or may not have a logo. If you do have a logo, it often
looks best when displayed at the top of the first page. If you do not have a
logo, one can be designed for you. For example, some logos were created at CoolText.
Many different styles are available here.
