"Laundry is very dangerous," he says, as he brandishes his mangled hand. [[Express your condolences]] || [[Laugh at his plight]] You take pity on your injured brother and offer up part of your chocolate bar. “Don’t be such a nerd,” he smirks as he uses his good hand to knock your candy to the ground. “Do you think it’s broken?” [[Yes]] || [[No]] You can’t help but laugh at his pathetic joke and comical injury. You laugh so hard you drop your chocolate bar. Cradling his injured limb, he laughs with you. “Do you think it’s broken?” [[Yes]] || [[No]]Observing the unnatural lump protruding from the top of his hand, you confirm his suspicions. “I guess that means we should probably let the sitter know…” he says, grimacing at the thought. Still frowning he laments “she’s going to lose her shit.” Suddenly he smiles. “Rock, paper, scissors you for who tells her!” He extends his good hand in a fist. “One, two, three…” [[Rock]] || [[Paper]] || [[Scissors]] || [[Lizard]] || [[Spock]]Despite the unnatural lump protruding from the top of his hand, you shake your head no. “You’re full of shit,” he smacks you with his good hand. “We’re going to have to tell the sitter.” You frown thinking of the lecture. “I’ll rock, paper, scissors you for who tells her!” He exclaims as he extends his good hand in a fist. “One, two, three…” [[Rock]] || [[Paper]] || [[Scissors]] || [[Lizard]] || [[Spock]]Rock You throw rock, thinking your brother will assume that you will play your usual paper. Your ploy is successful! He gleefully throws scissors. Presuming his win, he begins to laugh until he realizes that you have outsmarted him. “Best two out of three!” You proudly shake your head no and motion for him to proceed down the hall to where the sitter awaits. “Please come with me,” he begs, accepting defeat. [[Lead]] || [[Follow]] || [[Refuse]]Paper Good old paper, it never lets you down! You smile, certain of your victory, until you realize your brother knows you too well and has beaten you soundly with a well played scissors. “I win! You get to break the news.” You make your best pouty face and plead with him to accompany you. He agrees, “I’ll come with you, but just to see the look on her face. Let’s go.” [[Lead]] || [[Follow]]Scissors You choose scissors…. As does your brother. “Tie. Again! One, two, three…” [[Rock]] || [[Paper]] || [[Scissors]]“What the hell is that shit?!” He looks at you, puzzled. You wiggle your hand and say, “Lizard” in your best Sheldon voice. “Jesus Christ, no more //Big Bang Theory// for you. Play the game like a normal human being!” He challenges you again. “One, two, three…” [[Rock]] || [[Paper]] || [[Scissors]] || [[Spock]]He looks at you, absolutely disgusted, “Don’t make me stab you.” You’re fairly certain he’s serious. [[Rock]] || [[Paper]] || [[Scissors]] Your brother looks at you and hesitates. You grab him by his good hand and begin to lead him down the hall. As you approach the end of the hall, you hear the sitter snoring through the partially closed door. As you get closer, your brother suddenly shoves you into the door. You tumble through, and the sitter wakes with a start. [[Get up]] || [[Lay there and feign injury]]You hesitate. “Fine, I’ll go first,” your brother says as he grabs your hand and starts to drag you down the hall. As you approach the end of the hall, you hear the sitter snoring through the partially closed door. As you get closer, your brother suddenly shoves you into the door. You tumble through, and the sitter wakes with a start. [[Get up]] || [[Lay there and feign injury]]Refuse You refuse to go. Firmly planting your feet you cross your arms and shake your head no. He guilts you, “Don’t be like that! If you don’t come, I’ll tell her you did it!” Knowing that he’s a fantastic liar, you can’t risk him actually blaming you for his stupidity. You nod, relenting. [[Lead]] || [[Follow]]You quickly hop to your feet and shoot your brother a dirty look. The sitter looks at you expectantly. She notices your brother and his disfigured hand. “What happened here?” [[Wait for brother to talk]] || [[Try to mitigate the damage]]You’ll show him. You stay on the floor, grab your arm, and writhe around in pain. As you sniffle and attempt to garner pity, the sitter completely ignores your show and looks at your brother. She sees his disfigured hand. “What happened here?” [[Wait for brother to talk]] || [[Try to mitigate the damage]]You think maybe if you wait, your brother will confess his stupidity, and admit he reached into the washer to grab the apple during the spin cycle. Hopefully he will leave out the part where you were filming it for YouTube. Unfortunately, your brother puts on his most pitiable face and points his crooked finger right at you. “I didn’t want to do it, I was peer pressured,” he laments with tears welling in his eyes. [[Try to mitigate the damage]] || [[Accept punishment]]You begin to explain that yes, you did assist your brother in attempting to make his YouTube video in which he pulls an apple out of a running washer, you did not know he would be so stupid as to get his hand caught on the agitator. The sitter’s eyes grow large in surprise, then narrow angrily at you. [[Accept punishment]] || [[Burst into tears]]Knowing the only way to soften the blow is to appear remorseful, you burst into tears and begin apologizing to your brother, the sitter, and God. You are about as convincing as Hayden Christensen in //Star Wars, Episode III//, but you are also equally as dramatic. The sitter rolls her eyes and grabs you both by the ear. “Let’s get in the car,” she says as she drags you down the hall. [[Go quietly]] || [[Struggle]]You hang your head, and remain silent, awaiting the scolding. You brace yourself for whatever fiendish punishment awaits. The sitter rolls her eyes, and grabs you both by the ear. “Let’s get in the car,” she says as she drags you down the hall. [[Go quietly]] || [[Struggle]]You allow her to tug you by the ear down the hall. When you reach the top of the stairs, the sitter slips on your discarded chocolate bar and loses her balance. Releasing her grip on your ears, she stumbles towards the stairs. Just like in the movies, for a moment she teeters on the edge of the top stair, looking at you with pleading eyes, and reaching out to you. [[Help her]] || [[Watch in horror]]You are not about to be lead by the ear. You wriggle your way lose, but follow her down the hall. She allows you to follow, but does not release your brother. When you reach the top of the stairs, the sitter slips on your discarded chocolate bar, and loses her balance. Releasing her grip on your brother, she stumbles towards the stairs. Just like in the movies, for a moment she teeters on the edge of the top stair, looking at you with pleading eyes, and reaching out to you. [[Help her]] || [[Watch in horror]]You quickly reach out and attempt to save her. She gratefully grabs your hand. You also lose your balance, and you both tumble down the stairs. You scream in terror until you come to rest at the bottom of the stairs in a macabre bundle of broken limbs and blood. You are now dead, your adventure has ended. [[What do we do now?]]You watch in horror as she falls in slow motion. Once she starts tumbling down the stairs, the sounds of breaking bones and screaming is too much for you to take, you cover your ears, and close your eyes. When you open them, your brother is standing at the top of the stairs, his eyes wide in shock. “I think she’s dead,” he says. [[Look]] || [[Don’t look]]As you look down the stairs, you see the sitter in a pile at the bottom. “Yep, she’s definitely dead,” you concur. “Now what?” You both descend the stairs and carefully edge past your expired sitter. Before you have time to decide what to do, there’s a knock on the door. You look at one another. Your brother’s look of sheer terror mirrors the panic you feel inside. “Who could that be!?” he asks you in a frantic whisper. You shake your head in disbelief as you contemplate the situation. [[Wait quietly]] || [[Call out]] || [[Answer the door]]You can’t bring yourself to look, so you again cover your eyes. Against your will, your brother takes you by the hand and leads you down the stairs. He lowers your hand from your eyes. “Yep, she’s definitely dead,” you concur. “Now what?” Before you have time to decide what to do, there’s a knock on the door. You look at one another. His look of sheer terror mirrors the panic you feel inside. “Who could that be!?” he asks you in a frantic whisper. You shake your head in disbelief as you contemplate the situation. [[Wait quietly]] || [[Call out]] || [[Answer the door]]You put your finger to you lips and signal for your brother to stand still. Waiting in the silence, you feel as though the thumping of your heart must be audible through the shut door. It seems like an eternity passes before the demanding knock echoes through the house again. You cringe. [[Call out]] || [[Answer the door]]“Who’s there?” you ask, making every effort to sound as if everything is fine. For a moment no one answers, and you exchange a look of relief with your partner in crime. “Minneapolis PD, open the door.” The stern voice echoes to the depths of your soul. Your brother faints. As your life flashes before your eyes, you can think of only one course of action. [[Answer the door]]As you open the door, being sure to keep the macabre scene hidden from your unexpected guest, your heart sinks as you slowly reveal a uniformed officer. Your wide eyes glaze over his towering, muscular physique and settle on his holstered weapon and you feel as if you are about to pass out…or throw up. “We were driving through and noticed that there seems to be something wrong here.” He tells you as he signals to his equally intimidating partner in the squad. “You see, it’s quiet here….Too quiet.” His steel grey eyes narrow as they slice right through your thin facade of calm, daring you to try to speak. Suddenly your brother is at your side, hiding his injury. [[Remain silent]] || [[Make excuse]] || [[Confess]]In shock, and afraid of what might happen if the officer thinks you had anything to do with the corpse at the bottom of the stairs, you begin to masterfully weave a tale of how it could possibly be that it is so quiet and peaceful in this diverse urban neighborhood. Extolling the virtues of your kind neighbors and emphasizing the lack of dogs and cats which might normally contribute to the din of an area like this, you realize quickly that you are rambling and most likely making him very suspicious. [[Shut up]] || [[Confess]]Hoping to be able to explain the situation, you begin to say, “Ms. Sally, our sitter, she…” You are abruptly cut off by your brother, “She is taking a nap, so we have to be quiet, Sir.” Looking at your brother in confusion, you aren’t quite sure what you should do. Thankfully the officer in the squad calls out to his partner who stops interrogating you. “We have a report of homeless people sleeping in Rapson Hall, we gotta ride!” They take off with a bit too much enthusiasm for your liking. [[Shut the door]]Thinking the best thing you can do is to utilize your right to remain silent, you stand there and attempt to maintain eye contact. Despite your ever growing desire to flee, you know that your doughy legs would betray you. “Cat got your tongue?” The officer asks, “Why don’t you tell me what’s going on here?” [[Make excuse]] || [[Confess]]Knowing your limitations, you stop talking and hope that your brother will jump in. Reading your mind, he smoothly says, “Ms. Sally, our sitter, is napping, so we have to be quiet, Sir.” Holding your breath in anxious anticipation, you wait to see if the officer buys it. You’ll never know, because thankfully the officer in the squad calls out to his partner who stops interrogating you. “We have a report of homeless people sleeping in Rapson Hall, we gotta ride!” They take off with a bit too much enthusiasm for your liking. [[Shut the door]]You and your brother walk back inside and close the door. He promptly slaps you. “What on Earth were you thinking?! Do you have diarrhea of the mouth?!” He asks, incredulous. You retort, “I’m so sorry I don’t have as much experience with the cops!” You shove him and he stumbles over the corpse of Ms. Sally. Suddenly shit gets real again. He echoes your thoughts, “What are we going to do with her?” [[Bathtub]] || [[Bonfire]] || [[Bury]] || [[Car]] || [[Wait]] || [[Wood chipper]]Bathtub Thinking outside the box you say, “We could dissolve her in the bathtub like on that popular TV show?” Your brother looks at you for a moment. “So you’re telling me you think we should find some nasty chemicals and use them to dissolve the body in our bathtub?” [[Yes, bathtub]] || [[Maybe not…]]“I saw on the news there was a guy who burned a bunch of bodies in a huge bonfire in his back yard,” you say. “Maybe that would work for us too?” Your brother looks at you, unnecessarily critical. “You saw that on the news because he was //caught//. Are you telling me you want to copycat some dude who’s now in prison?” He asks you, incredulous. [[Yes, bonfire]] || [[Maybe not…]]“Bury her?” You ask. He looks at you disdainfully, “Where do you propose we do that, genius?” You contemplate for a moment. [[Back yard]] || [[Cemetery]] || [[Neighbor’s]] || [[Maybe not…]]You’ve seen enough murder mystery movies to know that you can probably make it look like an accident. “Let’s toss her in the car and push it off a cliff,” you suggest. Your brother looks at you with a quizzical expression. “That sounds really cool, but how do we get there? Neither of us can drive.” You remind him that neither of you can //legally// drive, but you’re certain with your extensive experience with //Euro Truck Simulator// you are certain you can get to the canyon. He smiles and nods. “Let’s do this.” [[Yes, car]] || [[Maybe not…]]“Let’s just wait it out,” you say. Your brother looks confused, then contributes, “I saw a movie once where they dressed up a dead guy so they could party at his house. We could totally just set her up in her chair until Mom & Dad get back.” You offer another option, “We could also set her at the top of the stairs and let her tumble down as they come in.” Your brother grins, “It’s almost Halloween, let’s just toss her outside as a mummy.” [[Fake it till you make it]] || [[Toss her down the stairs]] || [[Mum’s the word]]“Have you seen that movie where they stick a body in a wood chipper?” You ask your brother. His jaw drops open, “You’re disgusting! Are you telling me you want to take her out in the back yard and feed pieces of her into the wood chipper?” [[Yes, wood chipper]] || [[Maybe not…]]“Well, it’s as good an idea as any,” you can’t believe he agrees with you. “Help me pick her up, I’m down a hand, you know.” He walks over and takes a hold of Ms. Sally’s upper body. “I’ll leave you the light end,” he motions to her feet. You grab Ms. Sally’s feet and help your brother carry her into the bathroom. You less than gently plop her into the tub with a thump. Searching through the cleaning supplies you need to decide what to use. [[Drain cleaner]] || [[Bleach]] || [[Both]]Maybe not… “So what do you suggest then?” Your brother asks, beginning to appear agitated. [[Bathtub]] || [[Bonfire]] || [[Bury]] || [[Car]] || [[Wait]] || [[Wood chipper]]You pour the gooey liquid over the body, and wait a moment. Nothing seems to happen. You exchange a look with your brother who shrugs. “Maybe we need to leave it for a while,” he says. As the two of you contemplate the situation, you hear a knock at the door. Before you have a chance to react, the door is kicked in. “Minneapolis PD, nobody move!” [[Faint]] || [[Run]]You pour the clear liquid over the body, and wait a moment. Nothing seems to happen. You exchange a look with your brother who shrugs. “Maybe we need to leave it for a while,” he says. As the two of you contemplate the situation, you hear a knock at the door. Before you have a chance to react, the door is kicked in. “Minneapolis PD, nobody move!” [[Faint]] || [[Run]]Both You think maybe some bleach and drain cleaner might be just the right mix to dissolve the corpse. Your brother nods in agreement and you poor the whole jug of each over the body. You watch for a moment and you suddenly feel lightheaded. You notice that your brother has collapsed. Your vision blurs and it becomes difficult to breathe as the fumes overcome you. You are now dead, your adventure has ended. [[What do we do now?]]You wet yourself and lose consciousness. You wake up in a prison cell. Your brother, ghost white, sits next to you. “We are in so much trouble,” he says in an emotionless voice. The officer comes to the cell and opens the door. “Now that you’re awake, you’d better come with me, we have a few questions,” he says as he looks you up and down disgustedly. [[Follow the officer]] || [[Run]]You take off in a frantic sprint. You hear the officer yell something behind you. You hear two shots, and everything does dark. You are now dead, your adventure has ended. [[What do we do now?]]You reluctantly follow the officer to your fate. You are in so much trouble you can’t even… Your adventure has ended. [[What do we do now?]]You nod your head in confirmation. “Well, I guess we probably are a lot smarter than some redneck hick. We won’t make the same mistakes. We should start the fire first,” your brother suggests, motioning towards the back door. You go out to start a fire in the back yard. As you labor, your brother calls to you from somewhere within the house. [[Go back inside]] || [[Ignore]]You enter the house, and to your dismay, you see the uniformed officer from before standing over the corpse. Your brother, looking dismayed, stands at his side, handcuffed. The officer looks at his partner and shakes his head, “Wasn’t no bums at all, just some game making thing. They let those kids sleep anywhere they wanted.” Turning to you, you see his eyes narrow. [[Faint]] || [[Run]]You ignore your brother, this task is a bit more difficult than you anticipated. He calls again, his voice more urgent than before. [[Go back inside]] || [[Ignore]]You point towards the back door and indicate you meant your own backyard. “Are you crazy, or just stupid,” your brother asks you. He continues, “That’s the first place someone is going to look when they find out she’s disappeared. Then who do you think they’ll blame?!” You shrug. “Try again,” he is not amused. [[Cemetery]] || [[Neighbor’s]] || [[Maybe not…]]You can only think of a few places to bury a body. “The cemetery!” You exclaim. It’s such an obvious choice, and not trackable back to you. Your excitement is tempered by the irritated look on your brother’s face. “And how exactly do you plan to get her there?” He asks, shaking his head in disgust. You realize your error. [[Neighbor’s]] || [[Maybe not…]]“Oh, oh, I got it, in Mr. Lawson’s backyard! If they find her there they’ll definitely believe he could have killed her!” You are excited at the prospect of getting your cranky, old neighbor hauled away by the police. Your brother hesitates for a moment, also contemplating the joy of killing 2 birds with one stone. “That just might work,” he says smirking. [[Yes, neighbor’s]] || [[Maybe not…]]The two of you quickly hash out a plan. Mr. Lawson will still be at his weekly casino dinner buffet with his VFW cronies for a few more hours. Since you have two functioning hands, you grab the shovel and start digging while your brother keeps watch from inside your house. As you labor, your brother calls to you from somewhere within the house. [[Go back inside]] || [[Ignore]]You somehow load Ms. Sally into the passenger seat of her car and are able to turn the vehicle on and get it out onto the street. Things aren’t quite how you expected them to be, you assume it is because you cannot drive a Ford Taurus in //Euro Truck Simulator//. You manage to get to the canyon without being pulled over. When you get towards the edge, you and your brother get out of the vehicle and move Ms. Sally into the driver’s seat. You realize that someone is going to have to do a movie action hero stunt to get the car to plummet off the cliff. Your brother pulls out a coin and flips it into the air. “Heads or tails?” [[Heads]] || [[Tails]]“Heads,” you blurt out without thinking too much. You both hold your breath as your brother slowly reveals the outcome. You sigh with relief as he reveals the coin heads up. All the color leaves his face. “I guess that means I’m the lucky fella,” he says as he moves towards the car. You quickly remember his hand is injured. [[Volunteer]] || [[Let him do it]]You call out, “Tails,” and wait anxiously as your brother reveals the outcome. He sighs with relief as he reveals the coin heads up. You can feel the color drain from your face. “I guess that means it’s me,” you say, as cheerfully as you can fake. You put the car in drive and jam Ms. Sally’s foot down on the gas pedal. Everything is going great until, as you shut the door, your shirt gets caught. You turn to your brother and see him scream and reach out for you, but he’s far too late. You plummet off the cliff with Ms. Sally and her sensible, affordable Taurus. You are now dead, your adventure has ended. [[What do we do now?]]“Wait, you’re hurt,” you quickly say. “I can do it.” He smiles and is visibly relieved. As you approach the car, you start to regret your decision. [[What do we do now?]]You watch as your brother cautiously attempts to perform the task at hand. Things quickly go south when he closes the door to the vehicle. His shirt gets caught and you can see the fear in his eyes as he is dragged over the edge with Ms. Sally and her sensible, affordable Taurus. You stand there in shock, unsure what to do. You were so caught up in the moment you did not see the squad pull up as you watched in horror while your brother plummeted to his doom. “I think you need to come with me,” the officer’s stern voice yanks you back to reality as he places his hand on your shoulder. [[Run]] || [[Follow the officer]]You nod yes, “It will take care of the bones and stuff too.” Your brother scratches his head and looks at the body. “Okay, if you think it’s a good idea, I haven’t any better.” You drag Ms. Sally out the back door and begin to plan the logistics of your task. Your brother happily volunteers to keep watch from within the house. You set to work. As you labor, your brother calls to you from somewhere within the house. [[Go back inside]] || [[Ignore]]You decide if you just leave her in her chair everything will be fine. Despite her appearing slightly disfigured, you think you do a great job making her seem “lifelike.” She sits there for the remainder of the week, and becomes an almost comforting constant in your life. Soon your parents return from their trip. About 5 seconds after they try to wake Ms. Sally, they begin to bombard you with questions. Your father calls the police and you realize this was a horrible idea. When the officer arrives, he indicates that you need to come with him. [[Faint]] || [[Run]] || [[Follow the officer]]You drag Ms. Sally back to the top of the steps. She sits there for the remainder of the week, and becomes an almost comforting constant in your life. Soon your parents return from their trip. Just as you hear them opening the door, you toss Ms. Sally down the steps again. Your parents rush in, but quickly discover your ploy. Ms. Sally has obviously been dead for a while. Your father calls the police and you realize this was a horrible idea. When the officer arrives, he indicates that you need to come with him. [[Faint]] || [[Run]] || [[Follow the officer]]You wrap Ms. Sally in toilet paper and prop her out on the front porch. She sits there for the remainder of the week, and becomes an almost comforting constant in your life. Soon your parents return from their trip. “Where’s Ms. Sally?” Your father asks you. “She had to go home,” your brother skillfully lies. Your father is incredulous, “What do we pay her for if she just leaves you home alone willy nilly!?” Your brother then enacts the skillful plan the two of you were able to hash out over the course of the last week. He convinces your father that the two of you need to go to your friends’ for a sleep over because you were so well behaved for Ms. Sally. He allows you to go. [[Go to friends’]]From there, you call the police and report that your parents had murdered Ms. Sally before they left for their week long trip and forced you to stay in the house with the corpse until they returned. You hear sirens in the distance. Your brother smugly gives you a high five with his uninjured hand. “That’ll teach them to go on vacation without us!” [[What do we do now?]]
