An open letter to all who pass, posted on a wall in the Silent Blade.

  I have found myself in this realm of yours without much of a clue where I came from, as I have found to be the case with many of your citizens. Not long after coming here, I met up with a woman in the streets who calls herself Verissa. She, unlike myself, was familiar with the ways of the world, and taught me much, for which I am quite grateful. She taught me of the history of your world, and the clans and immortals who rule it.

  In time, I have grown stronger of my own right. I have spent much time in noble pursuits, most notably doing the bidding of the quest mistress Kahlan. When Verissa, my good friend, became a Boundary Warden, her new job kept her out of town for long periods of time. I spent some time at the local bar meeting other residents of this realm. I soon became settled in this world, owning a traditional elvish home in the trees, and coming into town quite often.

  Now, during these times I have remembered a few moments of my past life. I have memories of playing in open fields and hills with two sisters, and of sitting on the floor of my father's shop late at night, waiting for him to close it and walk home with me. I also found, in the pocket of the coat I wore when I first found myself here, a white gold engagement ring.

  Knowing only these things, I sought out members of The Guild. After facing their trials, and joining their ranks, I have been using their connections in an attempt to make some connection to my past. I have questioned many a travelling merchant, but to no avail. None has been in contact with an elvish shopkeeper who has- or rather, HAD- three daughters. *sighs*

  Perhaps, in time, I will be able to solve this puzzle of my past. But for now, I shall continue to serve my brothers in The Guild faithfully, hoping one day to speak to the right person, who will have the answers I seek.
