It is with great pride that I accept your invitation to discuss entrance into that esteemed institution. Sadly however I must inform you that I am very sure of the result of the meeting. I fear that I am still unworthy to be a member in my own right of such a storied institution. I have come to this land with little but my masters letter of introduction and a few gold pieces in my pocket. I have learned much in my time here in the relam, as my master told me I would. My most instructive time has largely been by the grace of the Guild's membership, many of you have taken time to teach a young thief about this place, and its opportunity. But, despite the efforts of those tutors I have yet to achieve the minimum normaly expected of an entrant. I am workng diligently to make myself ready for the honor of wearing the guild insignia, as my master still proudly does, even though he lives not among you.

In your invitation you spoke of renouncing my family, and all others... I wish to clarify at this point that I have no family, save my master who saved me from myself and my doom. He has brought me here, with the purpose to instruct me, so I may be of service to myself and to The Guild. My dagger is his, and it is yours already. I wish to honor him with my glory, that he may take pride in my deeds though few know of them. This was and is his way. I am young, but not foolish. I am inexperienced, but not weak. I am confident that when my status merits your attention, I will be one of your number. I will speak to you at your convenience, I am humbly at your service. I await your reply.
