Kymil's
Background (repost from a LONG time ago)

Almost a century has past since his judgement by the gods. Before the
Judgement, Kymil Nimesin was among the most powerful mages in all the
land. Blessed at birth with an odd ability to use both Additive and Subtractive
magiks, Kymil's spell repertoire was unmatched. With so few practitioners
of the Subtractive magiks, he was able to conquer and dominate whole Kingdoms.
However, he let his power and greed grow too much. In his arrogance, he
defied and challenged the gods. He was, of course, defeated. As his punishment,
the gods locked his powers deep within his own body. They left him with
only a few minor travel spells to remind him of what he'd lost. The pain
of magical suppression has left its mark in his haunted and bloodshot
eyes.
Since the Judgement, Kymil has been learning the skills of a thief. After many years of hiding from powerful enemies, Kymil has reappeared, protected from those enemies by his new skills and from Jagang by the gods' own judgement. While his hatred of the gods still burns within his heart, he has grown in both wisdom and cunning. He knows it would be folly to directly challenge the gods again. Rather, by creating chaos in the ordered lives of their followers, he hopes to disrupt the worship that they draw their strength from. When they have been thus weakened, direct confrontation may result in his reacquisition of his magical powers. Or so he hopes. Beware his blades. To become his enemy would be a dangerous thing. He does not lightly forgive transgressions. It has been said that it would be better to fight a thousand demons than to face the wrath of Kymil Nimesin. Beware his friendship. Ally with him at your own risk. Know that to do so endangers your life, and the lives of those closest to you. He does nothing without a reason. He does not run with a pack, unless by doing so he can further his own cause while using that pack as a shield against harm. Be wary of Kymil Nimesin. You have been warned. |
